dont get used to it there going back up
$900 + and i also feel the highway one
is the best production strat made the highway one
dont need all these bells and whistles like strats of today.
they didnt have them back in the 50's/60's/70's/80's/90's
so the y realy dont them now. thats why i say and many others say
the highway one sss is a real strat.

It is a nice deal for 600.00 for sure!! My question is why you think improvements make the modern strats not real strats though. We all know you love you HWY One's and they are nice guitars but there nothing like strats of the 50' 60's 70's other then the head stock and body contour. The neck is 9.5 radius, modern C shape, jumbo frets, completely different pickups (Hot Wound)
Tone circut is modern and completely different from old, new style tuners. It has its own bells and whistles just not as many as some others. Now the Classic series and the American Vintage are the guitars as you would say are like the ones from the 50's 60's 70's

I don't mean to start no fuss alwaysstrat/strat2004 but I think you would be better just saying its a great guitar for what it is. Not that its a great guitar because its like the 50's 60's ect. ect. cus its not like them.

All's cool though I will say if someone can get one for 600. to 699. it is a heck of a deal when you think they are trying to get 549. for MIM Standards.

wrong again cv go harmony central/zzsounds and other sites theres many like me who feel the same way. the highway one sss is what a strat should be period end of story just a straight up balls to the wall stratocaster the way they should be.

Thats cool if thats what you think alwaysstrat/strat2004 but all I was saying is that it specs are nothing like the strats that you keep saying. It is not like strats of the 50's 60's 70's the specs show that. In that case you are wrong. You can think its the greatest guitar in the world but its not like the old classics in anyway but the shape of the head stock its whole electric circutry package is modern nothing classic about it. The only thing classic about the neck is the head nothing else. None of this is opinion this is all facts that can be checked here on fender just by looking at the specs they are nothing like classic strats.
That is why I was just saying when you talk of your love of the HWY One you would be better just saying it a great guitar for what it is not because its like the classics. Thats all! None of this is my opinion so theres nothing I could be wrong about here just compare the build specs of the 50's 60's 70's strats to a modern Hwy One.
I am sorry I don't read reviews to come to a conclusion as no one should!Reviews can be found for every side of an argument its best to deside youself. I could not tell you how many Hwy Ones I have played and setup over the years, thats where my thoughts come from. Its a good guitar yes but its not classic or classic sounding. It is what it is a GOOD Guitar with its own bells and whistles ( mostly circutry ) and before the upgrade it had even less bells and whistle's so with you logic that one would be the better one so that shows your wrong way of stating the thought.
No fussing about it or argumnet I just find your esposed values to be the wrong description. It is a good guitar if you like the sound and feel!

Easiest way to tell the difference between an older stock Highway and the upgraded model - look thru the stirng holes on the back plate. Narrow trem block = older. Big fat trem block = upgraded model..

To make 'em sound like trad strats - bank on replacing the Alnico V pickups with something more suitable/vintage.. Mine are Seymour Duncan flat pole Alnico 2s after experimenting with (and rejecting) SCNs. Think also Kinman, Shed etc

I got really lucky with my Hwy 1. I had a Reverend Jetstream I was looking to trade or sell a couple weeks back. The Rev usually sells around 450-475 used. A guy on the HC forums offered me a mint 2007 sunburst w/ rw board Hwy 1 for it. Needless to say, I jumped all over that deal. I couldn't be happier. This Hwy 1 is great. The stock pickups are nice too. I even dig the large headstock. It's not as bad when you see it in person, I guess.

Without stepping too deep into the stink, you can debunk new AmStds with the shiny finish, 2 point trem, and electronics all day long. On the other hand, pretty sure there was no greasebucket circuit back then, the tone controls were for neck/mid, and you only have to hit line two of the sales description to get to that 'super-size fret', extremely non-vintage thing.

That said, the Highway One was always one of my dream guitars. The street price jump to 750 was bearable, but 900 put it firmly in the same range as my other dreams, lightly used G&Ls and... AmStds. It still might have been number one, but it would have made the decision a bunch harder. I like the Hwy1 features. FOR ME, it stands just fine on its own accord without needing any comparison. I still have my MIM Squier Series if I want to get "more stratty" and I have a number of guitars if I want to get "heavier or grittier". Soon I'll have the HWY1 to fit somewhere in the middle and offer a good bit of diversity.

Being able to get one at under 600 puts the Highway One into a class by itself FOR ME. That's on the northern fringe of MIM territory and still under what you can find a used and usually worn AmStd for.

I'll try to post up some pics once mine comes in. Maybe even get the whole eclectic family of them together for one. Thanks for the welcome. Everyone stay passionate, nobody is wrong.

Post pictures of your squire series. Now that is one absolute hell of a guitar. Mine outranks my customshop, vintage hotrod and american deluxe.
