how can i find out if this used strat i want to buy is stolen or not? i have the serial number but don't know where to go to find anything out.

You could call your local P.D. and ask them to check the serial number. If it was stolen locally and reported they would know. Otherwise it's really anyone's guess.

A PD can check for stolen numbers nation wide on their computer. Only........the previous owner would have to have known his serial number, and reported that number to the police.
