So I got my strat today. I was setting it up and for some reason the tremolo arm doesnt stop were I want it. I spin it till it gets firm and quits. but is stops right over the strings. I wanted it to stop over the last tone knob. Can you adjust this?

Maybe I should have put this under the title FENDER SUCKS! That would have gotten alittle more attention.

There are a couple of things to consider with this problem.
Are you using the supplied spring? Have you crossed the threads when screwing it in?

If those arent an issue maybe you could get a engineer to put a few more turns on the thread. Myself i dont do trem arms up tight, it leads to a stripped thread. You may want to consider that course of action and loosen the arm off a little.

If I dont get it tight it slaps the input cable and it VERY LOUD! Maybe its the way I set up the tremolo. It came floating and I set it where the back is touching the body. AKA no pullups.

The tremolo arm hit the input cable. Its like it is slanted toward the back of the guitar too much.

The bridge is made to float not be used when you have it pulled tight to the body as if you have if blocked.

Thats really !@$. That defeats the purpose of me buying a strat. I wanted a strat so I could change tunings. If its floating I cant do that.

A proper set up with a floating trem should hold tune.

Mate theres a lot more to setting a trem than float or flat. They need to be balanced or blocked. Theres loads of threads on that already you can click the search button. Other than that id suggest you google the carl veheyen method of trem setting. Just type carl veheyen trem.

The American strats come with a spring for tension on the arm. The MIMs do not. If you have a spring......then the arm will stay where you want. If you have an MIM it won't. I have both. With the MIM.......I just let it hang lose........then grab it, and use it at any level of height I want.
