next week ill be buying my first real fender stratocaster and I'm not sure which one will give me the tone i want... My favorite bands are rage against and the smashing pumpkins. So i would like to sound like them... i think the american deluxe hss strat or the billy corgan strat will help me emulate the sounds i want but I'm not sure... right now i have a squier and my amp is a roland cube 20x...Any help is much appreciated...

Both guitars you mention are excellently equipped variations of the most versatile guitar in mass production. Myself i'd say with your liking for rock tones the corgan is the model to go for. Morello as you know is a sod with his tone. You'll never get a accurate replica without fiddling with dials for every song. Given his rig you'd need to do it in the middle of songs sometimes.
The dimarzio's of the corgan strat are going to give you anything from free to sabbath tones depending on your amp/pedal choices. Both should suit you.

BTW both of them guys use JCM800's. When you look for a new amp may i suggest the marshall 2203KK. I know its the slayer head but gives a particularly sweet vintage jcm tone without the eq boost and noisegate engaged. You do need to turn it up though. Its useless at low volume.
