Hi, i have an 1954 stratocaster reissue from the custom shop, made in 1995. I remember when i bought it there was the announcement of a limited edition of this guitar because of the 50 years and all that. I was searching the web and it´s supposed that the custom shop made this relics copy´s until 31 december 2004 ??? i was wondering how many 1954 stratocaster relic reissue where there made ???? between what years ??? how many are out there ???? somebody knows ?????
i guess if you compare the value of an 1954, 55, 56, etc relic reissue depends on the number of guitars made, wright? or are there ohter factors involved?

thanks for the info.....

Alex/.

If it's the limited edition I'm thinking it is, they made 1954 of them. I thought they were numbered. It was a 40th anniversary thing, made in 1994.

Did you get two cases with it? and a COA?

back in 95 was almost 2000, but i guess it shuold be more now. In Sam Ash there´s a custom shop 1955, very similar, and it´s 5999. But in ebay there are a couple of 1954 around 2700. I´m not sure how much is it worth it today.

Maybe there were 1954 made, i think i remember something about it. Still i read on the web that for the 1954 50 anniversary limited edition thy would cease order for it on dec 31, 2004. I wonder if there has been only one reissue of this guitar, and if they made 1954,or 1000, or if they cease the orders on dec 2004, how many were there made ???????

it came with only one case, it came exactly as if you could go to the past and buy it in 1954.

There was a Custom Shop Limited Edition 1954 Stat. made in 2004 for the 50th anniversary of the 1954. It included a 50th. anniversary case as well. It was only made in 2004.

Fender has often made 1954 reissue Strats. Only a few of them were supposed to be special limited edition versions, made on the big anniversaries, 40 & 50, etc.

I remember the 1994 40th anniversary version, because I bought one of the extra cases off a guy who had one. They made 1954 of them and they charged $1954 for them too!

I just looked in My catolog the 40th anniversary had 1954 numbered guitars made as yiou said in 1994 only they were part of the anniversary series and it was not custom shop made. There was also a Diamond dealer addition that had gold pick guard and hardware and came with a Tweed Gig Bag and a Flight case. only 50 made  Thats the guy to have  Orv knows his stuff.

then it seems mine isn´t an anniversary one, because the certificate says it was made in July 1995. It is Custom Shope made. It cost almost 2000 too, but didn´t came with two cases, and it doesn´t have a special numer beside the serial one.
Then i guess its just a replic. I thought they only made them for a special ocations, and not every year. So i guess anyone can buy one any moment from the custom shop ??? still if i enter the fender web page and check the products there is no 1954 stratocaster available, even from the custom. There are not in the stores either. i´m confused.

If you ask the Custom Shop to build you a 1954 spec. guitar they would be glad to do so I sure. Not for 2000. though.

Mate 2k for custom shop is a good price almost too good if your talking dollars. Its about right for a sterling price around 94/5.

The 2004 50th anniversary (of the strat. 94 was the 50th anniversary of fender) customshop fullerton guitars were limited to 250 worldwide.

The web pages don't always have all offerings. Look at this store:

http://www.wildwoodguitars.com/electric ... /index.php

it's a "thin skin", but Custom Shop 1954 Reissues come and go.

Seems that way doesn't it? Right now they're sitting with over 20 Gilmour Relics. Wonder if they'll ever sell the all...all with signed books. :?

On the question....Fender can think up more ways to create a version of the same guitar. One get's dizzy trying to keep track of all of these anniversaries. :? Lucky I can remember my own.

The OP might also be interested in knowing that the 2004 guitar was priced at $5K US.
