Hello

I just thought I'd share my giddiness with fellow Strat fans. I recieved my brand new Eric Clapton Artist series Stratocaster here at work today...

After a long deliberation on what to get... American Standard or Deluxe.... I actually went for the EC Strat in Pewter.

I haven't had a chance to play of course as I am still at work...sigh... but I cannot wait to try her out.

She looks immaculate...Standing here next to me in the tweed case...

Ok here she is :) Also one or two of my CIJ 68 RI.

Anyway, thanks for listening.
G

Welcome to the forum. Would love to see some pics of that sweet guitar when you get a chance. This will probably be the longest day of work you've ever had.

Welcome, cherish your muse and gear.

And as that great mid-20th century American philosopher, Captain Beefheart, said to Bill Harkleroad, and is equally enthusiatically meant for Sonic Tunes, "Play that electric guitar, Mr. Zoot Horn Rollo!"

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your new guitar! When you get a chance take a pic and show her off to the members, we all like oogling over nice acquisitions.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new guitar. I've always wanted an EC, but the funds are lacking

Thanks for all the nice words everyone... I will put up pics this weeked.

Played all till late last night and couldn't put her down. Wow the neck is amazing.

Two questions.... Can someone explain the TBX and 25db midboost....?

I have read the TBX is on the middle Tone knob and changes with the indent on 5... so either more bass or more treble... is that correct?

How does the 25db boost work? is that on the Volume control? If so when and how does it kick in? Sorry if this has been asked before... but the treads are scattered all over.

Secondly, since the introduction of the EC model with Vintage Noisless pickups, has anything changed, improved on the guitars since 2001? I am not sure when mine was made though, as it is brand new I presum 2007/2008/2009? Or is it exactly the same specs as 2001 made models? I know there were some complaints with weak pups on early versions... but this has surely been addressed right?

Any experts can shed light...?

Thanks,
G
