Is there a website where the sounds of all the various Fender pick ups can be heard?

Unfortunately, I don't get the opportunity to spend time in music shops listening to every pick up sound type and frankly find it quite difficult to get an idea of a particular sound from a written description. Vintage Noisless v. Tex Mex v. SCN v. Atomic v. Custom Shop 69, etc.

I know that the same pick up will sound different depending on the type of body it is fitted on (and the amp), but I just wanted to get an idea.

I think Di Marzio offer a sound "sample" database for all their pick ups. Do Fender do the same? I could not find it on their website...

Thanks

i have heard that some guitar builder has test guitar where they put every pu in you wish. in think those you will don't find at every dealer for GC.

a chance is to google the pu companies maybe they have a tone database for their pu's.

cheers :D

I was searching for a new neck pickup a couple months ago and Seymour Duncans website has a great chart that you can compare all the specs and the sounds of each pickup. It was great in helping me figure out which pup i got.

I searched, but I can't seem to find a similar site for Fender pups.

tremolo arm,

I don't think Fender has any kind of website itself on which you could listen to their pups. You may find samples on sites that sell the pickups. Youtube will have demos and reviews of the Fender pups but like you said it would be with different guitars, amps, etc.. making it difficult to compare. I think it would be a great idea for Fender to do this themselves standardizing the recordings so that one could compare the different sounds.

Yo tremolo,

Here is a good site: http://www.acmeguitarworks.com/Strat_Pi ... ips_W1.cfm

some others:
http://www.areyouexperienced.net/cs69demo.html
http://theinside.net/strats/
http://magnets.lonelyfridge.com/

For specific PUs, also check youtube.

But keep in mind: Amps, recording gear,... all influence the sound. So if you can get a live check!

That would be great... then you could listen to all the samples, pore over the minute differences, order the set you like best, install them in your guitar and say, "Hey! I don't sound like that guy AT ALL!"

:D
