Sounds like phase shifting of some sort to me, phaser, chorus, something like that. I'm not a big effects guy I'm sure someone else can help you out.

The guitar looks like a Charvel Contemporary Spectrum to me, but the pictures I found have a different orientation on the headstock, but given the custom nature of Charvels it could have been an option.

The guitar is a Jackson Soloist that Beck really didn't think much of (he called it a "fairy guitar" in one interview but admitted playing the "Ambitious" solo on it). The effect I hear is an octave doubler.

No effects that i can hear except amp reverb and gain. The scream effect is just JB's technique. The guitar appears to be a jackson soloist maybe a stealth, based purely on the headstock shape and the fact that its neck through. Dinky's were all bolt on weren't they?

Well, I stand corrected on the model, but given that Charvel/Jackson were really the same company, I guess that explains the similarity.I didn't think jackson, because I don't think I've ever personally seen a soloist with a pickguard before.
