I saw one of these MIM '60s classic player' strats in a local shop: rosewood (of course - being the 60s one!), with sonic blue body and mint green pickguard. Looks tempting, although I havn't played it.

Has anyone got any opinions on this strat model??

I don't like that lack of 'headstock-end' truss rod adjustment, but apart from that......... :?

I remember picking one up briefly and checking it out. I generally liked it.

Very cool guitar. Personally I like how the 50's classic in Surf Blue looks. Very purty.

However I can't say I've tried either of the classic 50's or 60's. Just keep in mind that its a smaller radius (7.25"), but a lot of people like that.

It's getting good feedback on the reviews, though.

Oddly enough, it's actually a 12" radius !! I can only assume its's not meant to be a true vintage copy, perhaps they had in mind a sort of MIM version of an MIA vintage hot rod - although that has a 9.5" radius, still greater than the original 7.5"!

Either that or the spec I read was incorrect?

That for your positive comments anyhow :D

I bought a Sonic Blue Classic Player 60s Strat two weeks ago when my favorite Guitar Center knocked $300 off the price. I like everything about it... the beefy 12 inch radius neck, the vintage 2 point bridge and the '69 Strat pickups sound fantastic. It won me over as soon as I plugged it into a Deluxe Reverb Reissue amp in GC's Fender Room.

Play it, I think you'll like it. :)

i own a cp 60 in sonic blue, mint picguard. with the neck radius i'm not really sure anymore. on decal stands 9,5", in the test report from the G&B mag 12". but so what. i like the sound of this guitar, the handling is good and good looking.

test it, what says your heart?

cheers
