NGD... Back In The Fender Fold.

I haven't been here in awhile, but I figured it'd be a nice time to come back... especially with this... 2008 American Standard HSS Ash Strat Sienna Sunburst. I decided it was time to downsize and to justify that, I figured I had to get better guitars, so here's my new Strat and with what's left of my gear, including my other new acquisition, a 2008 PRS Custom 24 10 Top. I know there's a lot of Anti-Guitar Center sentiment, but a Strat for 20% off and a PRS on Clearance for $1850 are awesome deals.

Just because they were bought at GC doesn't make them any less of what they are.

Definitely not, just a lot of people dislike GC. There are three with 10 miles of here and one of them I feel is actually a really good store. I do prefer the smaller shops though. Anyway, I am a huge Highway One supporter (I had two Strats previously), but this new Standard is just awesome. The HSS pickup configuration is easily the most versatile available, I can get a nice range of tones. The humbucker is also giving me the heavier tones I like, but it's pretty noisy. I think between the Strat and PRS, all of my bases are covered.

Thanks. I've wanted a Custom 24 forever and it was such a good deal I couldn't pass it up. I figured since I was downsizing, I needed to upgrade. So I sold my Gibson Flying V, Ibanez SZ520QM and Fender Surf Green Highway One Strat, which I though I would never get rid of. I only kept the PRS and Silverburst Gibson LP BFG along with my acoustic and a bass. After it was gone and I was playing the PRS so much, I missed the Strat, so I decided the LP has to go. If I'm only going to keep two electrics, they had to be exactly what I wanted, you know? Now as soon as I sell the LP, I'll be in good shape.

Hey Callen, I was watching that one on eBay, it looks like a nice score. Good luck with it.
