Just purchased a 60's Road Worn Strat and I noticed the sticker on the back plate that advertises the Fender 250 strings was lifting off on the ends. When I removed it, there was no ageing under the sticker. Look's like the glue from the sticker pulled off the ageing material or they aged it with the sticker on. Now, I love this guitar, but I have to say, after all Fender went through to make this instrument look like it is "road worn" and from the 60's, this is very sad to see the outline of where this sticker was located. The area under the sticker is white and the rest of the plate is aged. I called Fender and they said this sticker has a very light amount of glue and was made to be removed. I don't think Fender intended for this to happen, but it does take a little bit away from the relic look of this guitar. Has anyone else experienced this? If others have just bought this, you may want to leave the sticker on. Thanks :(

dab some dark wood stain on a towel and blend it back to 'old' again.

After you have dabbed the colouring take the back plate off and leave it on a windowsill for the summer. The sunlight will have a great effect on it.

Personaly i think its intentional. Like the sticker was just removed and showing the aging around it.

That's really odd.

I wonder what Fender does to age that plastic?

I don't suppose they use the patented NikiNinja cigarette smoker!

That is odd like orv said. The outline is not glue though that wipes off and is aged underneath is it?
