Hi list...I'm just a newbie with a new Fender !!!

Now I'm the proud owner of an Am Std Strato bought at Sam Ash-NYC, by a friend of mine...boy, I'm amazed !!! What an instrument!!! Worth every buck !!! The guitar was in exposition at the store when he first played some chords, then he took it to the hotel and left it there for a week inside the case, then he came back to Brazil by plane arriving two days ago.

When I first saw it I tought "I'll tune it first"...but ...surprize !!! No need !!! The guitar was perfectaly tunned and till now the free tuner pedal that came with it is unused. Just amazing...this guitar crossed thousands of miles, passing through severe atmospheric variations as temperature, umidity, pressure and so one...many bumps...but it kept tunned !!! I just refuse to believe...my old guitar (a nice one) still need to be tunned when some changes occurs...but not this one....Congrats Fender guys..and greetings from Brazil

Welcome to the forum!

I always take the trem bar out when moving the guitar from place to place.
It sounds like this is the same situation?

At any rate, congrats on your new Strat! 8)

I like that John Paul Jones has a telephone on his keyboard. So important to stay in touch...

Pete Townshend has a very quick and simple way to detune a Strat:

That guitar's probably ready for a complete fresh setup...

Pete's losing it. He should of had that neck off the body on the 2nd hit.

Time for him to visit the gym i think.

Even as a kid I had very conflicted feelings about this stuff. Nowadays I discover I find it as dull as Pete appears to in that vid.

He's playing better than ever before. So keep that Strat in tune and play it, is what I'd recommend.

Still, I wonder if the piezo could be salvaged and given to Forum user mcphail...? :)

Cheers - C

Hi there folks, thanks for the replies...

Yes I saw many guitar heroes treating their Fenders that way, Pete, Hendrix, Cobain, and so one...and all use to say "I love my guitar"....well, I hope they did not treated their beloved wives that way...if I would be married to Angelina Jolie it`s quite certains I would not "treat" her that way... :D

Ok... that`s the heat of the moment, rock'n'roll, the grove, etc...but ..giss...its a Fender guys...there should be a law agaist that heresy :D :D

Regards to all
