Yeah, white Strats with the aged-looking pickguard, covers, and knobs look great. And Strats with the beautiful 3-color sunburst shows off the beauty of the wood so nicely. Funny, but I was a huge fan of Sienna Sunburst when it came out ... but I am not that crazy for it any more.

Me too.

I ordered the Sienna Sunburst and the olympic white and just fell in love with the white one. I really used to love that sienna but the olympic seems timeless. Every time I look at the white one the opening riffs of Voodoo chile come into my head. The Sienna one just leaves me flat.

Sapphire_Strat, can you elaborate on the "huge differences" between your American Std and your Deluxe Player's Strat? I know the differences in the specs but it sounds like maybe the differences you're talking about might be more along the lines of playability or feel...

the feel of the neck is alot different. 22 frets vs. 21 frets. the pickups have a cleaner sound to them in my opinion. the saddles, 2 point bridge, polished neck, and various other upgrades seem to make a difference. and also just the over all quility of the american made seems better than the mexican made.

Can't lose either way because the new American Standards are just plain awesome! I got a white one because I found this one used.

If it were me I would play them both and see which one really speaks to me as I play. If they are both equally good and both speak to me, I would just have to flip a coin. I like black and white, but my favorite is 3 tone bursts (with rosewood). Let us know what you decided and post pics if you can.

I just tried out one that looks exactly like Cherokee747's guitar not too uncomfortable to play, but the pickups were freakin' awesome sounding.
I've been working up top getting a NOS 69 Strat from the Custom Shop but this might also be a consideration for me.
Any comments on the tuning stability with the two point pivot bridge? It would be nice to be able to keep a stable tuning to the guitar with a LSR and Schaller locking tuners installed.

Thanks,
Harley 8)

By the way, I bought the G-Dec Exec I was trying the guitar through...totally AWESOME!

HH, mine has no tuning issues, but then mine are always decked. Iv'e got the LSR and the locking Schallers on my Deluxe and they are great. That little black Am-Std is a jewel to me. Mike

Thanks for the reply on that Mike. It sounds like the Std would be a good investment for a performing guitar then...not a bad price either. Harley

I never get any tuning issues from my 2 point trems and their set floating. I do find them a bit too easy to dip after using a 6point trem. That i suspect is entirely due to the low tension springs. I'm goint to get round to swapping them and re-setting one of my 2point trems one day.

Pretty much like one of mine, although from the pic it looks like mint green guard and aged plastic as opposed to my partchment and 'normal' plastic

Either way I LOVE Olympic white with rosewood!
