Do most of you that have one. If you set it up to play open G tuning or DADGAD tuning Do you get the retuned not plus the oringinal note when playing around the 11th fret up on the high E string. I play at a low practice volume so I may be hearing the original note when I strum.
My understanding you have to have the amp loud enough not to hear it.
Or can most play at low volume without the double note.
When I strum a full chord it is not noticable. Also I can record and then listen to it and the double not will not be there..
The drop D, Twelve String are great. Really love the guitar but just wondering if the above is normal. The guitar is for sure a keeper but if this is a problem I can exchange it for another one. If it is normal no big deal because when I record the problem does not exist.
Thanks

Hi Blue,
I had exactly the same happening when I had my Line6 Variax and used the open tunings and trust me it is completely normal. What your hearing is your unprocessed sound plus your processed sound ie the open G and it can be really disconcerting. When I was playing leads in open tuning ala Keith RIchards at low volumes I could hear the string tuned properly and the "D" string also so what I ended up doing was when I was practising I'd use some headphones and that eliminated the sound of my standard tuned strings. As for recording you'll definitely only get your Vg sound unless of course your micing the guitar in that case you might pick up your strings in standard.
Hope that Helps dude!
