Actually, Im in a debate on the HWY1 is not the only 15% made elsewhere, in the other forum. I really dont care about if its only 85% or 70% or even 50%. I love my HWY1.

On the other forum, they just cant stand the HWY1s... I dont know why. I think because its cheaper than their US standards? They thought the only guys with money can afford a US Fender? They just cant accept the fact that the HWY1 is better and cheaper than their US Fender Guitars and they also cant accept that their US Fenders is not 100% US made...

I really have seen a lot of beautiful and very clean looking guitars there. Very clean, and scratchless guitar like they dont even use it. I dont know if they are just frustrated musician wannabes and want to show off their guitars but dont use it.

For me, I dont really care if its made in US or Japan or what so ever name of the country where its made. As long as how good you use your guitar.

Answer...

A simple pointer: Fender are not a metal working company. They make few metal parts: those on their guitars are mostly supplied by other companies. And many of those are sourced from other countries...

That dont tell you nothing are there not American companys that do that or are they all overseas? Pickups are US, Pots are US, Neck, Body
I have always had the impression that the HWY1's are US models that are just made using electronic parts used on different MIM models. The part numbers can be matched up. I would not doubt if they were preloaded pickguards from Encenada being place into the guitars here in the US to help in the cost saving.
