Is the Slayer head any different than the regular JCM800's?

Hey cvilleira, NICE LP CUSTOM!! I hate to intrude on all the bickering, but I have to tell you...I don't hate Gibsons...I love them! The Les Paul Custom is one of my all-time favorite guitars. Sorry folks, but a LP Custom thru a big fat amp really loud cannot be duplicated by a Strat...Period. There..I said it!!! Yeah, thats right. I love Gibson Les Pauls!!!
Try to cop some old Santana licks on a Strat, sorry, but no. Listen to some early King Crimson were Robert Fripp is playing his Custom 3 pickup LP. Fat, nasty tone that no Strat will ever be able to duplicate!! That doesn't mean I don't love Strats, I do. I just love a nice guitar, no matter brand.
PS I will see your LP Custom and raise you a 1969 Silvertone/Teisco, now THAT is QUALITY!!!!Image

I call your Teisco, and raise with my '66:

It's dirty in the pic, but someone refinished it, and I don't think the black fits, so it's getting changed.

12B without the beast function engaged its a quite mellow soft sounding amp. Certainly softer than other 2203's though tonaly similar if you could imagine a 800/1959 hybrid. Its definately softer than the 4211 i use it with. Theres also next to no gain on it without the beast engaged and the volume below 5.

Put the beast switch to on and its regular highgain nonsense. The switch engages a mid boost before the preamp and a built in noisegate. The gate is great.

nice gear guys. It's funny as hell seeing those Silvertones. My first amp was a Silvertone "swap meet special" mated with a Crown Strat copy with a couple of flat frets.

I don't miss 'em

The thing with Silvertone was it was the Sears brand. But they contracted it out to various different companies over the years. So quality varied depending on who held the contract to build for them.

A lot of them are fairly collectible. Of the companies that manufactured for them some are well known, like Kay, Teisco, and Danalectro.

Windwalker thats my mexican squire series. I put the dimarzio fs2 in it about 3 years before the hotrod came about. Deciced i needed 3 singlecoils and put the original pickup back in. 2 months later fender released the 57hotrod on purpose just to get my money.
