Looking back, I don't feel real comfortable with having taken my shots.

So Alwaysstrat, I offer my apology for being rude and boorish.

I would be glad to oblige Always. Well have a jam drink a few beers and have a laugh. I dont for one second think your a raving lunatic. I do believe you see red alot though. I've tried a few times to make peace as have you and i think we get a lot of crossed wires leading to our dismissal of eachother. Certainly we'll down a few jars and make some noise round my bands practice barn. Theres drums keyboards bass all kinds of stuff available including a few plants.
In the spirit of friendship your more than welcome, although im some 130 odd miles from enfield. m25 then A1 north.

I was behaving on this one but I think always brings it onto himself because he says things like he did to Nik about if he's creditable or not when alwaystrat himself has not shown anything to make himself creditable. All we have heard is I believe and I could be wrong is that alwaysstrat has 7 2007 HWY1's a 1968 Strat, a MIK Ash Strat and some Amer. Strats then 6 Wahs but was 7 then back to 6. Then he post things like he just got a Jimi H. Wah and what do you guys think, but on the other site he posted long ago that he had 2 Jimi H. Wahs along with a bunch of other and even 5 or so Roto vibe types. He won't post any pics because it's no ones businness as he says. He even say that on the other site about pics. Well then why is he here talking about them? I have no doubt I was one of what he meant by the same three. I find it an Honor to be in that group because I do find them to be creditable. Always I would not mind it if you were to become one of the many people on the forum to be considered as very creditable member but you have not shown it yet at least it seems you are trying to calm the nasty crude stuff down some but it still shows itself and rubs members the wrong way. Well I don't won't to make this a argumnet thing but I was just trying to say how I feel many are thinking and why.

I assure you, my MIJ remark was nothing but tongue in cheek. And in sharing in Cv's earlier remark, If i am to be considered among the mysterious "3" well then I'll gladly take my place amongst good company. 8)

Oh man, this again. Look, no matter what the argument is, it comes down to this. the more expensive American, are made with better materials, and with better QC. I've owned both, I currently have a MIM Reissue. It is a great strat, and for a while I thought I had to rethink my opinion on MIM's, although I had to play many to find one I'd buy. My opinion came back when I purchased a Callaham tremolo to put into it. As soon as I unscrewed the 6 post screws, and pulled off the old tremolo, I noticed that one of the countersunk holes for the post screws, was totally off center. Instead of a clean, countersunk round hole, it had this eliptical oval hole, because whoever made the holes brought the drill down a little too much to the side, and after they made the intitial millimeter or so hole, just pushed back into alighnment. I would have had to actively searched out a MIA that had that. That particular hole is at the G string, where I have a strange dead spot at the 15th fret, that nothing has addressed, numerous setups, and a recent refret. Now, its not a full on dead spot, it does ring out, it just doesnt have nearly the same sustain that the rest of the strings do, enough for me to notice. Dont get me wrong, I love this strat, and with all the mods Ive done( new trem, new locking tuners, Area 58/61 pups, changed out pots and wiring) tonally speaking, this thing blows the American Deluxe I had out of the water, no comparison, and I cant make the thing go out of tune, plus I got a crazy deal, it was a year old, it came with a hard case, and the owner replaced the pups with Rio Grade, all for less than $300, but the thing new was over $700, more now with the price increase. I dont like the finish at all, its that polyester deal thats like encasing the whole body in plastic. MIA's are not more money because they are made in the US only, they're more because they are better.

I think everyone just needs to chill out. This is an argument that will never be won as it is like comparing apples to oranges. The MIM's are great guitars for what you pay for them. The MIA's are great guitars for what you pay for them.

Anyone that prefers an MIM is justified, because it could be what they can afford and what they like. This is an argument that can't be won as it is ultimately a mater of personal choice

Cant' we all just get along???? :D

How about we just all band together as "Fenderistas" and go conquer a Gibson factory or something. We could force them to shape all the SG's more like Telecasters!
