I got a new Tremolo arm tip for my Strat. The guy at the store said the old tip should slide off and the new tip should slide right on. Well, I got the old one off easily enough, but I can only get the new one on about halfway down (about a centimeter away from the little groove mark).

Any tips on how to get it on the rest of the way? Dang thing is a resistant little bugger.

You could heat the arm and while it is hot, thread the tip onto it. But be careful for all the obvious reasons.

Try petrolatum jelly (vaseline), butter, chap stick, water, or whatever, the excess can be wiped off.
