They should be nickel/steel fret wires.

I'm thinking nickel/steel.

Not sure where I've got that idea from though...

They are made from pieces of the "lost ark" that's why Fenders make such heavenly music!

Most frets are made of nickel SILVER, an alloy similar to brass (but silver coloured not yellow, containing copper nickel and zinc.

Some frets are stainless steel, rare though, and many say that although it's very wear reisitant, it does not sound to good. I'd have no idea on that, as I've never heard it!

NEVER heard of nickel steel though! DO Fender use an alloy steel containing nickel?? Not just plain old nickel silver?

Some form of metal. Thats about my limit of knowledge on the subject.

It would seem that Mr AdrianDavid is very correct atleast where dunlop are concerned.

Ouch. I've an uncomfortable feeling you're right.

I guess our humor got in the way of reality, above. Which was perhaps what Mr Byron Blue was trying to tell us. Fret wire is clearly no laughing matter...

Melted down nickels and silver dollars...made on a jumbo jet. That is why they are called jumbo nickel silver frets. If you need any more professional advice, I am your man.
