I have a SSS Highway 1 Stratocaster. Worth every penny I spent on it. The only modification I have done to it was I installed locking tunners. You can go play a few and decide for yourself if you like it; as it is not the Stratocaster for everyone. In my opinion it is a really good, no frills, American made Stratocaster.

You may want to check out pawn shops, e-bay, or craigslist for some good deals on one. I only payed $640 for mine brand new (well $440 with a trade in). I am not sure if it is worth $900-$999 they are now, but in this economy what can you do?

+1 on that. I only changed the tunners because I really like them better. I had talked about changing my Bridge pup in the past to a humbucker, but thanks to FM cafeathers, I've reconsidered.

Just a question, does the current highway 1 series come only with a big 70s headstock?

Now this guy is speaking my language

I have a 2008 Hwy 1 neck on my partsocaster. Its a high quality but basic neck and you know what? I dont need more. It does everything I need, but cost me about 60% of the alternative American Standard neck.

totaly agree jay
