I'd go back and get one that's already "expanded back". Forgive me for the cynicism but that's par for the course with GC as far as I'm concerned, it's not their problem. They are aware the situation but it's up to you to wait for your guitar to re-adjust and live with a guitar that doesn't feel right. With the inventory they carry, you would think they would have some sort of humidification system throughout the store, not just in the acoustic room. Just a thought.
