ok, so i took my guitar in a month ago to get it cleaned up and new everything on it, and the guy who was workin on it, a cool guy named justin, told me it was weird, it looked like a strat, which it does, but the neck felt like a jackson blues guitar, i dont know what model it is, all it says is its model number and fender on the front. i know it cant be a true strat because it doesnt have a pick guard, so idk what it could be, any clues? i can post pictures if need be.

Pictures would help.

I've been a jackson devotee for quite a long time and never heard of a jackson blues guitar.

Hi jeffthepirate: I'm not quite sure what a blues guitar is. I'm struggling to think of a type of guitar that hasn't had blues played on it at some time or other.

As mentioned, I don't think we can get very far with this one without seeing the guitar in question - and one or two of us are probably a little curious.

Meantime though, you are aware there's been plenty of Fender Strats without pickguards, right?

Cheers - C

...it looks like a pre-CBS style neck that was modded with a bullet truss rod... the body and neck look like they were dipped in a barrel of radioactive acid... the poor thing... that doesn't look like anything fender has ever made. not even jackson would make something that "out there"

I would say it was built from parts. more pictures could help. like, say, the back, a closeup of the headstock, the neckplate, and the bridge would be a start...

It could be a product of Fender Japan... those guys always are turning out the strangest crap this side of the nut house. could you list the serial # please? we can run it on guitardateproject.org to find its origin

It's the Fender Tie-Dye Strat. Perfectly well know and legit. Looks a lot like one of these, wouldn't you say:

Phototransfers from pictures of real T-shirts, they proudly claimed.

More info on this out of date page:

Google Tie-Dye Strat for more.
