Hey everybody.
I'm upset. I come on here hoping to find a Left-Handed Guitar Instructional DVD so that I can practice more and come to find they don't have any. If anyone could tell me where I could get a DVD for Lefties, I would be grateful. It's very difficult for me to use a Right-Handeed Instruction DVD.

:D

I think you need to get used to it so you can learn from as many people as you can. I've never really had a problem watching lefties play, but I probably just got used to it myself. Pretend like it's a mirror.

You could watch videos in a mirror.

As a left-handed player, I've never used any instructional material geared specifically to lefties. The problem with them is, sooner or later, you're going to want to use tab or sheet music to learn songs -- and the vast, vast majority of tablature is written for the right-handed player (in fact, I can't say I've ever seen ANY tab written specifically for lefties). Most chord books are also written for righties, as are most instructional books and DVDs (as you've discovered).

When taking lessons or studying on my own, I've always used standard, right-handed lesson books. And all of my instructors have been right-handed. After a while, your brain simply begins to see all the right-handed chord diagrams, fingerings, scale patterns, etc. and sort-of processes them backwards -- it's gotten to the point where I don't even really think about it anymore.

That being said, there IS a guy on Youtube who has several lessons geared toward lefty players. Here's a link toward one of those lessons -- you should be able to find others in "related videos..."

It's actually easy to watch right handed videos. Remember that if you are watching someone play right handed it is like watching in a mirror. Check it out for your self. Go play in front of a mirror and you will see what I mean.

Unfortunately, it's just the way it is. I'm so accustomed to watching righties (like a mirror) seeing lefty tabs just confuses me.

Get used to it brother. As stated in an earlier post ... your brain will begin to process it and it will get easier. Hang in there.
