I'm glad there is no "perfect" Strat. It gives me more reasons to keep buying more guitars. :D

Think i would just go with a alder body. I have one now and it works perfectly. In fact, i would try to keep as close as possible to the standard fender specs in terms of shape and choice of wood.
I really want to keep that nice ringy yet deep bottomed, warm fender tone. So no maple body or anything, just typical standard strat.
I wouldn't want it to sound too heavy or sharp...
