2nd hand Fender California Series strat. The wikipedia page for this series doesn't say anything about it being in blue and on another forum someone told me it was fake so I came here to ask.

No walnut surround on the truss access hole of the headstock = fake. bad one too. The decal is wrong, the headstock is the wrong shape, the upper horn on the body looks wrong too.

Run for the hills from that one mate.

I concur: Bad, bad, bad logo is only the beginning of what's wrong with this guitar, which is everything, including the color. Fake.

heh... it looks like someone wrote "Fender" in gold marker and then tried to tidy up the edges with a black one.

Gumtree's a frustrating site; plenty of crap like this, and then those times you spot something that appears genuine for a good price it turns out the seller is "in the UK for eight months for work, but the guitar is in a warehouse in Melbourne (or Sydney, or Brisbane... wherever you can't go to inspect it)" and could you please send all your money to moneygrabbers.com who are really, really reputable... and so on.

Sometimes unwanted gifts are that way for a reason.

just taking quick little glances from these pictures to my headstock, its looking really bad, not the right trussrod (if there is even one there?), no standard body/ orignal/ custom etc. sign, and once again, something not right bout the fender lettering.

Brother this is one "ugly as home made sin" fake Strat.
Looking at the previous posts, everyone has pretty much nailed it.
