OK, first think first, I just got an new stuff for a crazy sale in a very low price but without try. Its a US made, flat top strat with EMG 81/85 pickup and floyd rose tremolo system (like the photo showed). It looks great without any scuffs, dings or dents, so I just got it, no matter at the end it didn't work.

However I really want to know what is the model of this beautiful stuff. I search a lot of site but even can't find what the things really is. The serial number shows it build in 2002 for the first four digit was started in "DZ20".

Have anyone know?

Hi doggie, welcome to the Forum.

I'm a bit hazy on that area of the catalog, but 24 frets and a Floyd Rose bridge: was that one the HM Strat?

Others here will know for sure.

Cheers - C

The D on the serial number denotes Deluxe. Z2 as you said denotes 2002. I've a 2003 catalogue its not in there.

Ha - good, yes. Well doggie's Strat is not a Squier, but there was also a Fender Showmaster. Lot of 'em didn't have Floyds, but here's one that does. Different pickup config, but essentially the same guit:

That's the one ain't it, give or take...?

Oh! Yes, Ceri, your photo seem the American Highway 1 Showmaster, but it's a satin finish instead of gloss and without the SKB case.

Hi again: well, that's what it said on the picture (above) I found on Google. Must admit I'd never heard of a Highway One Showmaster, but that means nothing. In any case, which ever label's on the headstock, essentially what you have there is some form of Showmaster, right?

Far as I remember there are no Showmasters in the Fender catalog at present: but I couldn't possibly put a date to the one in your picture. I think they were still current around three years ago - but as I said earlier, it's not a style of Strat I study closely so I'm not certain.

There's folks here who play 'em: stick around and likely you'll get more info shortly. For example, I'm guessing those pickups are mods - but I couldn't be definite about that.

Cheers - C

The 2002 Frontline (catalog) doesn't have any Highway One's in it.

Some Showmasters in the catalog were made in the Custom Shop. They don't have 24 fret necks however. They also don't have Floyd Rose trems or come in a 2 humbucker configuration.

There are Squier Showmasters with 24 frets (though with only 2 dots at the 24 th position), HH pickups, a black Floyd Rose-type trem.

I guess I'll have to break out the 2003 Frontline ... now where did I leave it? Okay, the 2003 has these Showmasters: Squier, the Custom Shop and some Special Edition Korean-made versions. But the version that looks the most like the guitar the OP posted is the Highway One Showmaster HH (111-1900). However, they are satin finished, don't show matching painted headstocks, don't have EMGs, and don't list any blue color. With that USA type serial number, I'm guessing it could be a FSR model.

Yes, I guest you're right, course this shop is the biggest dealer in my living place. Normally they will stick a label, which has a model number, the detail information and printed beside the bar code. However, this one just has a very rear number not like the normal. It's showing like this 10/SAMP/BL.

This guitar looks like a Squier Showmaster body and a Fender Showmaster MIA neck w/ aftermarket EMG pick ups. It's got to be some kind of custom job.

FYI, I've seen the MIA showmasters on Eb*y every now and again. I don't think they were "Highway" Strats. It appears they only came in black or gray color, hss config, 24 frets, contour neck heel and a floyd rose.

Yours looks awsome. Excellent buy.

I just picked up a 2003 '69 Thinline, with the mahogany flame and I am hoping to find some actual Fender literature on it.

Orvilleowner, you mention having a 2003 catalog. Can you send me a PDF please?

Thanks.

Very much sounds like the EMG's were added aftermarket. It was probably a Floyd Rose guitar with a swimming pool cavity in the body, either Fender made or aftermarket. Very interesting make of a strat. Quite a shredder type guitar at the least.
