Looks like the bridge pickup says Seymour Duncan?

If so, I'd guess a Lonestar.

A Lonestar with a roller nut? If the nut is original (can't see it well enough in the pix) I would suspect ot is a plus with swapped pups.

Said the nut was after market...I believe they came in that color, so it was just a wild guess.

The nut is aftermarket. And yes it is a Seymour Duncan. and also note the extra hole in the plate on the back I read somewhere that is significant.

Thanks for the quick replies keep em coming. I will post when I hear from Fender

One other ? The two things holding down the strings. Why is there sometimes 2 or just 1 or a different type? Are 2 more desireable?

The American Standard Series strat has 2 string trees because they don't have the staggered tuners. They stopped making that model in 1999-2000 and replaced it with the American Series strat which only needs 1 string tree because it has the staggered tuners. Hope this helps.

The hole in the neck plate is the microtilt adjustment for the neck- Standard on American Lonestars . They also had two string trees, and the pearl pickup guard and trem plate, with the full slot, like your picture shows.

There is a Gold/Maple one on ebay right now if you want to compare.

I'm pretty sure it's an SG, late seventies probably.

Wow that Fender e-mail address (consumerrelations@fender.com) for finding out what guitar you have is awesome thanks for that.

It is a 97 Lonestar (hot rodded american series)
2 Texas specials and a Pearly Gates.

They give you all the info you need.

Now go forth and spread that e-mail address and thanks for all the replies.

Razor wins...
