It is a crafted in japan model. i can't get a date on it cuz Fender's site stops at "R" in '07, and mine is "S" then serial number...so post '07 i guess. :D [/img][img]

Odd seeing a 50's ri with a 3tsb finish, but cool nonetheless! Good score :D

Yeah the 3 color burst threw me off too, i would expect a 2 tone on a 50's RI. Everything seems to be original on it. Some older gentleman pawned it after he bought it about a year or so ago here in North Carolina. That story, in conjunction with my attempt to match serial #s on Fenders site, is how i came up with the '07ish age. I don't know much about Crafted in Japan models, and i have never had a reissue series. So i'm probably not the best judge. In the end, She looks good, plays great, and sounds like a strat should...That's what really makes me want to play the heck out of it 8)

How's the neck on that? It looks as smooth as an American Strat.

Yeah, looks awesome. The creme/aged on the white pickguard, especially, is such a great look.
It is funny in that I am building a project Strat using a 3-color SB MIM body from about '07 that looks exactly like your body...

Man the neck on it is killer, very straight , and low action. I haven't even had it officially set up yet either.

I was using a mid 80's Carvin 100w tube head, but it got ripped off, so im actually looking for a replacement as we speak. Right now i'm pushin' the marshall with a....brace yourself... a 5watt valve jr! lol I ran to guitar center and bought one just so i could hear myself while i look for a replacement. If anyone has any suggestions or opinions on a good tube amp for under a grand used, i would love to know what you think. I play everything as far as music styles, and want something to handle that. No modelers or fx built in amps though,i have that covered with some goodies already.
