Should not that Made in Japan and serial number be down on the back of the neck not on the headstock where Crafted in Japan's Fender's are marked?

Niki...what did you see in that body that makes you believe its legit?

Thanks.

Thankyou for asking Jay. The sticker in the bridge pickup cavity begining M00 with a barcode on it.

That is a common inclusion on modern fender guitars, my hotrod and custon shop have similar (one begins CZ the other AV) my baja tele has nearly the same. Its some storage code or part number. Not evidence in itself but the way the final colour coat covers the edge of it is a bit good. Any forger going to those lengths would likely produce a instrument worthy of fender and charge accordingly. Remember fender are geared up to make strat bodies all day long with minimum fuss. The price of such a quality fake would be more expensive than the strat it was claiming to be.

Notice also the white circular sticker in the mid pickup cavity. Its my belief that those are undercoat colour indicators. My hotrod has a silver one the CS has a gold one. Both of those guitars are candy apple red. Metalic silver or gold has long been the undercoat choice for CAR finish to help the sparkle. I think CVilleira, Twelvebar or OrvilleOwner have a link to how the 50's/60's colours were acquired that lists the undercoats used for certain finish's.

The whole neckpocket area of the guitar is a testement to modern fender guitars. Note the 4mm colour band around the pocket. The funny shape near the neck pickup on the wall of that pocket. The inelligible stamps and scrawlings. Lastly the funny circular holes. So preposterous a detail (used for router placement is the common belief) that you never see copies with them. They look so wrong only fender would have the balls to have them on.

Like i said non of this is concrete, it could all be duplicated. Whoever would go to such extraordiary lengths deserves a job in the customshop copying star guitars for relicing though.

Looking at it I am thinking its a Made in Japan Squier 62' JV Series neck. Pics pf the back and heel would help. The ST-362V stamp looks right but the Made in Japan don't
