Just thought I'd start a thread about guitars that we used to have, but got rid of for one reason or another. I'll start off.

I had a crappy Washburn Mercury II guitar, but it was the first guitar I ever had. I traded it in and got a cheap Squier Strat and Crate amp (I don't have either of those either). I know it didn't play that great, but now that I look back on it, it would be nice to have the guitar I learned on.

Let me know any guitar that you wish you could get back!

My first was a red Korean made Strat-like Epiphone. Played my first gigs with that guitar, and even had some drunk throw a beer bottle or two at it. I traded it to a friend for a lawnmower, and he somehow broke it in two. I do miss it.

I had a 75' Strat, 3-tone sunburst with DiMarzio HS3 PU's, Gotoh Machine Heads, Floyd Rose tremolo. I bought this guitar from a shipmate of mine while I was in the Navy. I spent long hours playing that instrument and acquired around 9 effects pedals, a couple of Fender amps, a Rockman, 4 track recorder, and other stuff to support my habit. After I was out of the Navy, I was living in this fleabag of a hotel in Long Beach, California where I rented a small cottage with one roomate. I came home from work one day and found it all gone, stolen, (it wasn't the roomate that took it).

I never saw that guitar again. It played very well and sounded excellent. I have since moved on and have other Fender Strats now but, that one 75' Strat will always have a place in my heart.

Nope, still have all my electrics. I did have a acoustic that my uncle gave me that was my first guitar, but it broke, so I really can't miss it too much

Oh, maybe I should have hung onto the 1952 Les Paul Gold Top I had in the mid 80's. Stunning condition with the original case. Oops.

Or maybe the 1961 Les Paul Junior I had in 1974ish. Very good condition. Of course, the 61 junior was actually the SG...Les Paul just hadn't had them take his name off it yet and rename it the SG. P-90's yum yum. Oops.

I wish I still had my Squire HM III Stratocaster that I bought in the '80's. Unfortunately the orginal neck broke on it in the middle 90's by my very young son at the time. I also wish I still had my 1978 Gibson V. That was one serious guitar, but it was lost to theft.

I've only ever sold or gotten rid of one guitar--the first acoustic I bought--not very good, never bonded with it, and when I got my classical when I started lessons I never touched it--I consider the classical my first guitar--and the waste of good plywood K-Mart special as a toy.

Never missed it--although I do sometimes miss the plastic one I got for Christmas as a kid--6 strings, tunable and fun.

I used to have a 91 American Standard Strat in candy cola. It was my first American fender, and it was my baby. I found it at a flea market for about $250. I put on schaller locking tuners and a whole new set of pups with a white pearl pickguard along with a whole new set of wires and other electronics. She was one of the coolest guitars that I've owned, but alas tragedy struck when I dropped her at a show I played. I thought there was no damage, but there was actually a split down the neck pocket, and eventually the crack spread like the one on Steve Vai's Evo. I had to give her up...God I miss that guitar
