I love stratocasters. My old guitar teacher had a standard strat in her class, which I loved playing. Thing is I want a strat, but not a standard. What strat would u recommend to get? I play rock, metal, and blues.

highway one strats are very nice, except that they have the large headstock, but if you can get around that, they are great.

The Classic Series from Fender Mexico are fine if you're on a budged.
'50s, '60s and '70s vintage style Stratocasters, NICE.

I woulds go with a Clapton Strat. It is great for Blues and Rock. I don't play HM, but The pickups are pretty powerful and the mid-range boost is killer.

The Highway one is great too. I think that they make one with a HB in the bridge.

Let me know what you get.

You can find a "pre-owned" American Series for under $500 if you look hard enough.

You can get the Highway 1 - the big headstock is my favorite thing on the guitar.
Any Strat with a HSS layout is good for you - the humbucker can cover the metal and rock the single can cover the blues. I've never played one that came with a good stock humbucker though (besides the Pearly Gates +).
So you might want to look into a Dimarzio or a Seymour Duncan after the purchase.
