I own a fender (not a squire) stratocaster serial number E1047435 and on the head stock it says MADE IN KOREA, I`ve checked on the net but can`t find anything about it. does anyone know if is fake or genuine it sounds and feels real enough, and can you tell me what year it was made and average value. Thanks in advance. Image

The reason the saddle for the high E is like that is because I was sorting the intonation out when my string snaped, so I havent sorted it out yet.
I have another electric so I`ve been using that ( I won`t say what it is as its not a Fender).
Im sorry for the size, The serial is on the front of head stock. So what do you think.

I guess the easiest way is to open an account on a site like photobucket and then post the link to the photo from that site.

Hi PSHUTTLE and firesupra007. Fender make Strats in both Korea and Mexico and have done for a long time. Both of you may have any one of many models. The only way to help is if you post decent quality photos here and folks'll be more than happy to take a look and give you their thoughts.

You can check your serial number at this website, but unfortunately it won't help with Korean Fenders:

http://www.guitardaterproject.org/fender.aspx

To post pix, open a free account somewhere such as Photobucket.com, upload the pictures (not too huge, please) and then use the code under each one in your album to insert the pictures here. To see how, click the "quote" button on any post here that has a picture in it and you will be able to see how that user inserted the photo.

Cheers - C

Does it look like this?

If so what you have is a Korean Lite Ash Strat....

Hi again, PSHUTTLE: well, now that you've posted the pix (above) I can tell you from the bridge that it is not a Lite Ash Strat, which was probably a thought in many of our minds.

I can also tell you that there is something very odd about your guitar's intonation, judging by where your string saddles are, particularly the low E.

...Hopefully someone else can narrow it down further...?

By the way, if you just pop back to that post again and insert a line break (carriage return / hit the "enter" key) between the first two pics then they will appear one above another, which will make this page easier to read. Thanks.

Cheers - C

It's not too easy to tell from the pics you posted, but I think TheMagician is probably correct. If you want to take another pic of the entire headstock, usually if there is a specific series that the guitar belonged to, there will be an additional marking on the end of the headstock. In the pic below it simply designates "Original Contour Body", but other models may read "Standard Series" or even "Squire Series" for some of the earlier Squires that had the large Fender logo. I've also had a lot of luck contacting Fender support ( consumerrelations@fender.com ) with the serial of a number of guitars and they have always been able to tell me exactly what it was I was holding. I've only tried this with USA guitars, so you might not be so lucky, but it's worth a shot. Good luck.

PS
I don't think anyone was making fake Korean Fender guitars, so if that's all you were wondering, it should be pretty safe to say that it is a real Fender (depending on what you consider to be a real Fender). Looks like a decent player at any rate. Enjoy!
