'ello. I done a post not so long ago about my pedals not working correctly, and your replies helped. (Because it fixed them).

I'll start from the beginning.
At home, I can get the exact sound I want, but when I do a gig it all sounds to messy.
My tube-screamer suddenly becomes more-less a fuzz box, and when I click on my Vox Wah-Wah, the volume suddenly goes really low, and all you can hear is a light distorted tone what has no voice to it. And I get un-wanted feedback every time I might take my hands off the fingerboard for a moment. Also, I use a fuzz face which usually goes really well with the wah-wah, but it does the same thing.

Not sure if you can understand that, but any advice would be a great 'elp.

Hi Jimmy: I think we can understand it. Essentially, you have the settings of all your FX boxes turned far too high. It sounds OK at home because you have the amp turned low and are not driving it hard. Soon as you put everything through a loud amp you realise it is all way overcooked.

That's what sound checks are for, because you can't be sure of your settings till you hear them at gig levels.

In my day everything (that we could afford) was much simpler. But we still had a tendency to turn such effects as we had way too high. It's one of the lessons you learn as you go along. Famous players that you hear almost certainly have their drive (etc) knobs turned far lower than you might expect when you try to recreate their sounds at home.

Give it a try.

Cheers - C

Alright, I'll give it a go when everyones at work.
One thing though, I usually have my fuzz face right to the top on volume and fuzz, because if you turn either of them down, you don't get the 'wanted' feedback. You just get a cleanish 'throaty' sound.
I'll try it out anyway - Thanks.

If you have a pedal with a buffered input/output you will get better germanium fuzz/wah results if you place the buffered pedal between the fuzz and wah.
When did you last check the wah's battery? I get the same thing with mine when the battery is low.

As Ceri said, you need to reset your pedal and eq settings for volume also for room size too with the amps eq.

What i do is use a yellow crayon and mark one set of settings on the pedal for home, live is marked black. Should you change your mind about a certain pedal the wax crayon rubs off easily.

The pedals I use is a Ibanez Tube Screamer, Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face, and obviously, the Vox Wah. I also use a Marshall Regenerator sometimes for the Uni-Vibey sound.
This is the order I have them as:

Amp --- Tube Screamer --- Fuzz Face --- Vox Wah --- Strat
Set as: 7 full full full full

What should it be?

(I'v not tried Ceri's advise yet anyway, I just started to write and I thought I presented it well, ha)

what they should be set at is entirely at your discretion. I would put the tubescreamer between the wah and the fuzz. Its about your only option for any kind of buffering, as any modulation effects at that point dont sound good. Its entirely possible the fuzz is silicon rather than germanium, arbiter made fuzz faces with both types of transistor. If its silicon the probem with level drop with fuzz and wah is down to your battery or settings.

The rest is down to your ears.
