A picture would be helpful. Or a better description of it's features at least.

Your best bet is to send an email to Fender Customer Relations @ consumerrelations@fender.com with the serial number. They should be able to tell you what model you have.

Standish, first welcome to the Forum. Yes, photos posted here would be most helpful. And don't be shy, send details of everything if you can. Headstock, decal, serial number, tuners, neck, frets and fret markers, body, pickups, neckplate, bridge. If you are adventurous, take off the pickgaurd and get photos of the backside of the pickups and pots. Better yet, pull off the neck to look for makings there and in the neck pocket. Our experts here at the Forums will take it as a personal challenge to identify your Strat. Stock or modified, they will get to the bottom of it.

Hey standish..according to the Fender date code, you have either a 1997 or 1998 American Strat. Here is the link for this: http://www.fender.com/support/usa_instruments.php

As was mentioned before, send an e-mail to Fender Consumer Relations. They can tell you all you need to know about your particular instrument.

Their e-mail address is: consumerrelations@fender.com

Awesome! Glad they were able to help. I would have been surprised if they didn't help you. I have sent many e-mails to them and have always gotten very good and prompt responses.

Now, let's see some pictures of that nice looking Lone Star! :)
