I like to be able to see the grain in wood, so probably a 2 tone sunburst or sienna sunburst

I prefer custom finishes myself. Some models don't have a very good selection to choose from.

Yeah it depends what mood i'm in. I had a deluxe strat which had a nitro burgundy finish and it was sweet! Had to sell her unfortunately! :(
