I found a beautiful strat in a local shop. It has a rosewood fingerboard and is a nice cardinal red color (like a darker red with no hint of brown). The serial number on the neck is N7322708 and it is labeled as a US model. The asking price is $900. There is a small ding at the top of the head stock (like someone scraped it against a wall) but the rest of the guitar is flawless. Any information on this guitar's serial number would be appreciated.

Or a Lone Strat. Or...

lafromla1, stratohawk is right that this guitar is likely a 1997-98 American Strat from the Corona factory. You can find that out by entering the serial number into this website:

http://www.guitardaterproject.org/fender.aspx

Unfortunately, the serial will tell you little else (unless you have access to Fender's computer records).

If you posted pictures there is a possibility that someone here might recognise the exact model and know more about it. But you probably don't have time to do that if you are hot to purchase...?

Good luck - C

appears to be a 1997 american stratocaster, however, since we cannot see the guitar. Keep an eye out for lace sensors ( they look flat and do not show the pole magnets ) and another noticeable giveaway on the nineties was an extra hole on the neckplate to adjust the neck. and if this is the case, you scored a deluxe.

happy hunting, see if you can post up some photos.
