Hello everyone.

My name is Dragan and I'm from Bosnia, city Banjaluka.

I have become owner of Fender Stratocaster Mark Knopfler guitar few days ago. I got it as a present from my friend.
I'm a trained classical guitarist and this is my first electric guitar. Mark Knopfler was my favorite rock guitarist since I was a kid and this is a dream come true for me. I don't know much about el. guitars, not even how to change strings on it, but I will learn now, for sure.

I have ordered Fender Super Champ XD amp, and as soon as it get's here I'm starting with my playing. :)

That's all for now, I just wanted to say hello to all of you. :)

Bye.

Hello Marin. Enjoy that guitar mate.
From what i understand of the superchamp xd it should get very close to communique era knopfler tone.
I have a vibrochamp xd and use it for all my clean knopfler type sounds. Although its 5 watts its great live as a onstage monitor and sounds great on 10.

Hi Dragan,

I reckon you're about as far from me as you could be. Welcome to the forum. If you've got any questions ask away. There are many very intelligent folks on this forum that would love to help you out. By the way, that Knopfler Strat is a great guitar and certainly one of the best first electrics you could ever ask for. Enoy my friend.

Russ

Hello Marin,

Firstly welcome to this forum.

Those Knopfler Strats are one of my favorites
although I do not own one (yet).
Best shade of Red I ever saw.

Best of luck with that new axe.

Cheers.

Hi, Dragan... I worked with someone from Banjaluka for a year recently -- It is a beautiful city. I'd like to visit sometime, but it's a long way from Sydney. Enjoy the Knopfler; they seem to be very popular on the forum at the moment!

Thank you all for your nice messages. :)
mondo500 maybe we'll jam one day together if you ever visit Banjaluka again. :)

Now I have few questions about my new guitar and how to set it up but I'll open new topic for it.

:)

I've got a superchamp XD, it's one hell of a good amp for the price! Very 'involving' tube sounds with wide renage of EQ prests designed to sound like various vintage and modern amps.

I'm very pleased with it and can't believe anything that sounds that good could cost just a couple of hundred quid!!

Much better than the solid state Session Sessionette 75 I had before in my opinion!
