Is it worth investing on a VG strat? Will I be able to get a warranty from fender even if it's discontinued??

I bought one from the Fender stand at Music Live, in Birmingham (UK) in November 2007.

I can't comment on warranties etc but it's certainly a great guitar.

It's a good guitar. Not my favorite Strat. It's useful for gigs where you may need different tuning or sounds on different songs. I use mine in rotation at Church along with some others. If you're going from Hillsong to Lincoln Brewster it 's helpful...
My stock pups don't sound as good as the modeled version on the Roland. They're a little thin. It eats batteries so use rechargeable ones. Some owners on this forum have complained about a bleedthru problem with the pups when you are in an alternate tuning. I haven't had that problem.
Fender will warranty this guitar as long as you're the original owner. If you can still find one at the sale price I'd grab it. I paid more for mine...

I'm not sure how much the VG will appreciate as a collector guitar.

It may, if it becomes a rare curiosity, or if someone famous does something famous with one.

Likely a good deal.

That said, 'bought a Line 6 Variax 500 some years ago and despite its flexibility and excellent sound-modeling, the "real" guitars get played tens of times more.

And having batteries on board is an aggro not personally liked, at all.
