The only way you can get that finish is by spraying a tinted gloss coat on top.

Yngwies yellow is not the result of natural aging, by the way. If I remember correctly, the guitar was repainted at some point with a non standard cream color.

I've got a 'yellow' YJM with a maple board, and although I like the guitar, I have to say that I think the colour's pretty goping! Sorry to the man himself, and everyone else out there who likes the antique/vintage white or whatever it's called. I'd far rather have had the sonic blue with rosewood! There's a bit of history as why why I ended up with that colour, and I've bored you all to death with it here all ready!

My all personal all-time favorite Strat colour is very pale cream type off-white with rosewood, the colour of Blackmore's favorites. I've got an '84 $@! reissue of a '72 in those colours and I still love it! I'm not sure but I think it's more off-white than the Olympic, which seems like quite a pure white if the website colour chart is any guide. Maybe the arctic white is the closed Fender do at present??

in fact, the only thing that really ages much anymore is the pickguard.

And, of course, the players...

Just remember if you have your guitar in smoke-filled rooms, your lungs are there, too.

That said, Oly White Jazzmaster '96 MIJ, is just as white as when it was brought home, and it has a lot of playing on it, but is kept clean and in the case.
