I couldn't beleive to see the VG strat being sold for 999 today at GC and then the Deluxe having gone up so much. Why these sudden changes? The regular strat is more expensive than the VG!

The VG did not sell well. So it has been reduced, and the line is discontinued (they are not making any more). The VGs are an unbelievable bargain. Buy a sunbust VG while you can!

Yeah. The Am Deluxe I bought last year is great but I would have gone for a VG had it been for this price.Does the VG have a Les Paul model?
And why the price hike on the Deluxe? Due to economy I guess. But why particularly the Deluxe? Is it the best selling AM strat?

Keep in mind these are very hard to mod. So you're pretty much stuck with the VG stock. Personally because of that..I'm much happier with my Am. Standard =).

'Hard to mod' Pls explain. Is it worth investing on a VG strat? Will I be able to get a warranty from fender even if it's discontinued??

First - I don't have one!

This has been discussed though, and supposedly the wiring is pretty complex..so it would be very tough to rewire in any pups, is what was being said. Same goes for the pickguard..that's the fun part about strats for me. That's why I wouldn't invest in one..but again I don't have one.

Email Fender Support about the warranty, but why do you think you will need one? Fenders are pretty solid. Watch the youtube reviews, and then go play one!
