Hello. I'm a new guitarist and I recently bought a Mexican HSS Fender Strat.
I want to know your opinions on Mexican Stratocasters.

I have a 07 MIM HSS and am completely satisfied with it. I play it everyday with my MIA Strat.

I've heard a lot of rants about the HSS not being a "true" Stratocaster... I'm wondering... What kind of music is an HSS good for?

Hi Pedrocaster, welcome to the Forum.

Don't worry about the rants. Strokes for folks is the name of this game.

I have HSS and SSS Strats. They are slightly different tools for slightly different jobs.

It's all good (though Bob Dylan has just done for that particular phrase, hasn't he?)

Well, just one number off it so far, on the radio. It had the line "It's all good" delivered with heavily ironic implication. Can't remember the name of the track though...?

Anyhow: Bob just don't slow down, does he?

My opinion is that it's a horrible, sloppy un-Made in the USA, piece of cow dung. Not. :lol:

I love mine, it's the best $300 I've ever spent on a guitar. And it's so much fun to modify too! :D

The MIM strats are good guitars in there price range. Some are better than others. The Classic Players are great guitars. Fender no matter where its made isnt gonna be junk.

I prefer them, even over the standard American stuff. They just have a more traditional feel to them and I don't need all the bells and whistles (and hefty price tag) of the American stuff.

First off welcome to the Forum. MIM Stratocaster HSS. If you like Rock and Metal they are great guitars.

Unfortunately I am not a big fan of MIM Strats at this time...but that is because I have played a lot of them in several guitar shops and could not find one that was worth buying. I am sure that there are some out there, just not in my area. I am glad that you found one and like it.

I always say that the right guitar finds the right player to play it. This is you in your case. Have fun with it.
