Hi bluesstrattone.

Well, there's this:

www.licklibrary.com

I've used some of their other materials and found them generally amongst the better things of their kind.

Can't speak to the backing tracks as such, but there seems plenty to choose from in a variety of formats. Be interested to see how you rate them if you give them a try...?

Cheers - C

I've always found great backing tracks on youtube! Check them out, some of them are just so awesome that I had to play them like 7 times in a row! Especially the blues heavy in G backing track!

There's a bunch of guitar backing tracks on youtube. Just search for the genre you want plus "guitar backing track". :)

Some of the people that I do some online collaborating with park their backing tracks at Aussenjam :

I agree with Ceri, go check out LICKLIBRAY. It is my favorite guitar site. They have everything you can imagine of the highesr quality,on line video lessons, hundreds of backing tracks ,inerviews with a lot of heavy hitters and they sell hundreds of technique videos .There is a small fee but even your not a member you can use a lot of the stuff on the site .

I make my own backing track with Guitar Pro (RSE included) or Fruity Loops.....If I need some chord progressions to practice improvisation, I'll do a recording session with 1 channel pre-amp to Cubase or Nuendo.....

Simple right??

Yes, it is very simple for those of us that have the gear to do so, but I think that the original poster is looking for some already made backers?

There is also a guy named, Matts Nermark, from Sweden who posts all over the web as "journo".

He holds a master in music and had been employed at Fender Scandinavia, after that he wrote columns in some Swedish music magazines, and I think he´s currently writing in a Swedish guitar mag. He has a company where he makes muzak for advertising and presentations.

Some of his tracks are quite good :

I've picked up a couple of CD's from Guitar Center called "Band in the Pocket". They have like 10 backing tracks in different styles and key signatures. Check it out at www.fivefeathers.com
