Ok I searched to see if there was old topic about this and couldn't find one...
Ok I'm a huge Dick Dale fan and I'm starting a Post Punk/Grunge/Surf band and I was wondering if anyone has played it and is it worth the cash? Cause it look cool and looks like it would sound great... And I am digging the reverse headstock... Oh and if anyone knows why they took down the Dick Dale sig guitar off the Fender website... Are they going to stop making it?

It's not so much only the axe, but setup.

Dick used very heavy strings, which will necessitate some work. If memory serves, his high E was an .016 and the thing was called, "The Beast."

He also stuffed the 2-15" JBL-130 Dual Showman cabinet full of fibreglass insulation. It's a whole-sound thing.
