To start off, I love playing Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Jimi Hendrix. Just thought I'd let everyone know, maybe for some extra kudos and lulz, and to let everyone know what kind of guitar player I am. Which may help in my following questions.

I played the 1960 Road worn series, and I'm really impressed with the sound and I absolutely love the way the paint finish looks, and all the pieces on the guitar, it looks amazing. Which leads me to my first question:

What is the difference between the Road worn with Tex Mex pickups, and a MIM strat with Tex Mex pickups? If I went and put Tex Mex pickups in a MIM Strat, would they sound similar?

Also, what are the difference between the American Vintage '62 Stratocaster, and the Vintage Hot Rod '62 Stratocaster?

First question: Yes if they have the same pups, they would sound as similar as any two guitars could. The Road Worn is a MIM strat but with a vintage vibe (7.25" radius). The Road Worns have a Nitro finish which some say will make the guitar resonate better. They also have 6105 frets (tall and Narrow) which feel diffreent than the standard frets. Other than that, same woods and components. These two guitars feel very different though, to most of us that is one of th most inportant features of any guitar.

The difference between the American Vintage RI and HR are the necks. The AVRI has vintage specs: 7.25 Radius, fret wire, etc. The Hot rod has a flatter fretboard, thicker C-Shaped neck and Medium Jumbe frets.

I much perfer the HR to the AVRI, but that's me. I like chunky necks better and because I tend to fret out doing aggressive bends on the smaller radius necks. So for me it is perfect.

The Hot Rods use a thinner finish and hotter pickups.
