really are you sure steelwool mmm the guitar is new will i not damage it

I have done it myself on my new Fender Telecaster and many other
guitars. Go easy with the sanding and stop if you like the feel of it.

I'd clean the neck and polish it, and if it still felt sticky, then I'd steel wool it.

just play it for a while, the necks are sticky because of the finish they put on it at the factory. it'll wear off after a while.
