The American Deluxe will keep you happy for the rest of your life. The lonestar and blues jr, while great pieces of equipment, will be cool for a year or two until you decide you want to upgrade. It's very hard to do, but I've learned the hard way that I save money by getting the good stuff first, even if it means waiting for a very long time. Just my opinion.

I can understand the dilemma but if you have a means to plug in your guitar I'd go with the Am Dlx. Through all the years of trying to get the "most for the money", I was always disappointed that my gear never really felt or sounded "right" to me. I finally came to the conclusion that I should buy the top-of-the-line to begin with and be done with it. I took a hit selling off my old gear to accomplish this and I now have less stuff but I am 100% more satisfied with the feel of my instruments and, most importantly, my tone. BTW, I got my Am Dlx V-Neck on e*** for 850.

son,
hey by any chance do you have a youtube vid on that vneck deluxe w/kinmans.

im forgeting the fact, that when i brought the strat down from the wall, pluged in, it fit like a glove tonewise, and feel.
the other choice is alright.
i like to hear 1st hand on peoples opinions on pickups.
what do you like about the kinmans?

Blues,
No I don't have a vid or other recording of my Strat. My main amp is a Mesa Lonestar and I don't have a mic at home to record with. I just picked up a Cyber-Twin SE and am wanting to check out the XLR output into my mixer but haven't as of yet. If I get a chance within the next week or so, I'll let you know.

As far as the Kinmans, I really, really like them. Here's the story, and I'll try to keep it brief :?
My V-Neck came with the SCNs and I liked them for the most part. I liked them a bit more when I A/B'd them with a set of Custom 54's I had in another Strat, the SCNs were very close but did have a touch of that modern/compressed tone that you'll encounter with most noiseless single coils. I became frustrated with my tone and began researching other pickup options. I looked at Fralins, Lollars, SD Antiquities and Noiseless, Dimarzio Virtual Vintage, and Kinmans. The Fralins and Lollars lost out because I really don't care for the 60 cycle hum but was willing to explore them if I had to deal with hum to get great tone. In the end, the Kinmans won for their incredible Strat tone and being noiseless. The only way I can explain them is they are the most "alive" sounding pickups I've played, including my Custom 54's. I can still remember the first time I played my Strat after the swap and could not believe the crispness, character, body and the incredible improvement in tone, and that's in all pickup combinations (I only used the bridge and neck with the SCNs). It was as though my Strat came to life, I could actually feel the tone as well as hear it, if that makes sense. I've had them for about 2 years now and to this day, just played live this morning, absolutely love them. I would not hesitate to recommend them to any player who is looking to replace their pickups.
