My friend owns a fender starcaster. She is considering a new amp. For under $200, which amp goes well with a fender Starcaster?

I would look into the Roland Cube series...

I have an '08 MIM strat and have a VOX AD15VT (with a jensen speaker) and I'm pretty happy with the overall sound. The VOX is a great little amp and has enough toys to keep a newbie interested. I also owned a Roland Cube 20X and I really liked that amp as well. Very comparable to the VOX. I really can't go wrong with either IMO.

At least a 20 watt. Roland, Line-6, or Vox. If she is planning to play with other people, a 60 watt minimum...same brands and add Crate.

I own a Roland 30 X and love it. I down-sized from a Crate GFX 65 and it sounds a little better.

I have a starcaster attached to a Fender G-Dec and it is loads of fun. Its always set up to encourage the kiddies to pick it up and be a rock star. The G-Dec will give it tons of different tones and a back-up band that never gets tired. Not quite the same as the HSS QMT hooked up to the Blues Jr. but its loads of fun! 8)
