I'm just about to buy a Fender Stratocaster on ebay, but I'm looking for some more info.

I know it's an American Standard Strat that's probably from 06, but does anyone think they can provide some more information about the Strats of that year? For instance, what pickups does it have, etc?

The serial number is Z6116510.

Thanks a lot. :)

From the guitar dater project
info about your guitar

Guitar Info
Your guitar was made at the
Corona Plant (Fender), USA
in the Year(s): 2006 - 2007

Fender: Corona
Corona factory was opened in 1985, Corona California, with major guitar production starting in 1987. With the addition of a custom shop in 1987 the plant currently employs about 700 workers. Apart from general and Custom Shop Fender instruments and amplifiers, it also encompasses Guild acoustic & electric guitars

^Thanks for that information.

Any other specific information about the Strats from 2006 or 2007 would be great. Things like what pickups they have, etc. Thanks again.

It's probably equipped with either Alnico III or Alnico V pickups! Not sure which one though! Great guitar. Good luck!
You can google the specs for that year!

Thanks for the info.

Yeah, I tried to contact Fender, but I couldn't get any help from them, and even google isn't revealing much.

I'm having a bad internet day, I guess.

bluesstrattone: Thanks! That's interesting, about the bridge delta tone control. So that means it already has the tone control wired to the bridge? That's good, since that's how I generally like strats, anyway. I'm assuming that also implies no middle tone control? I'll have to do some research on what the Delta Tone control means, as well, haha.

fhopkins: Thanks. I figured since I'm about to acquire my second strat, it's about time I start posting, haha. :P

Here is a short description on how delta tone works
Re: what is fender's delta tone?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

No load pots, mean that when the pot is turned to 10, the device is completely out of the circuit. It just keeps the natural tone of the pickup when on 10 as if there was no pot at all.

Hey, Nutha newbie here. Just picked up a Mexican Strat from GC, wondering about my model. It's the Midnight Wine with SN of MZ7256559

The Fender site did not list this SN, and I was wondering when this was made. Any other tidbits would be cool too!

Thanks.......

Probably best to start your own thread. Welcome to the forums. Check out this like for your guitar.

Hi tbachli, welcome to the Forum.

Unless you have access to Fender's private database there's not too much you can usually tell from the serial number beyond a few basics. You number says your guitar was made in the Mexican factory in 2007 or 08. Which don't get you very far, does it?

My foggy memory kinda thinks that if it's Midnight Wine from 2007 it's probably a Standard Strat, rather than one of the other Mexican models. Check this page for more - click on the "specs" button for info. That model was "upgraded" recently with a new trem block and a couple of other details (do you have a silver logo on the headstock or all black?), but the specs will mostly be the same as for your '07:

http://www.fender.com/products//search. ... 0144602375

Post some pictures if you want: we'd like to see, but there probably isn't so much more to tell.

Cheers - C
