I have a new Am Std Strat, and I love it. Great tone....so much better than the first-gen Am Std I once owned.

I have one issue. I live on a mountain where several radio stations have broadcast towers. When I have the volume knob on the guitar maxed out, I get a clean signal...but if I roll back the volume knob at all, I get loud radio interference in my signal. I assume that the max setting allows a straight signal through, while rolling off the pot introduces more of the circuitry of the guitar where interference can creep in.

My other guitar is sheilded and wired with a common ground point, and I have no issues with it. Any ideas how I can fix this issue without completely rewiring my new Strat?

You could build a giant Faraday cage to play in.

Thats pretty wild.

try it in all five positions and see if you get interference in the 2 and four positions.

Think of it as a cool feature. You can know rock out to songs on the radio without wasting electricity by turning on the normal radio. Hey! :D

What do you have your second tone knob set on? That's the no-load part of the circuit, and it engages at "10" . As I understand it, that gives the bridge pup more punch (and no filtering). I would have expected that to have more effect than turning back the volume. Turning that down a little from 10 might provide some relief (aurally, that is).

Hopefully it's not a rap station. :(
