What. It fitted mine perfectly. You fitted the round screw hole first then the slotted ones?

- Make it work out.
- Exchange it for the correct one.
- Sell it for the correct one.
- Exchange it for something else.
- Sell it for something else.
- Throw it in your spare parts draw and buy the correct one.
- Throw it in your spare parts draw and forget about it.
- Throw it out.
- Give it away.
- Get another guitar it will work on.
- Use it for a paperweight.

That's all I've got.

The d or g string one i take it.

If its hampering your trem use then it can be removed with no effect at all on the guitar. Other than that your options are as Martian says.

Heres mine. Right ontop of an old mex trem install

Not clear i know but you can see through zooming in that it went without a hitch. The D&G are both a little north of the other screws. I loosend them off a half turn.

did you change the claw too?

the old claw and it's screws run parallel, but the new screws with the new claw angle towards the middle...

Hey mate...

What was the spacing on your strat that you fiited the 5+1 to?
Was is a std mex body, or a wider USA spaced Classic series body?

I thought the idea of that unit was that is could be used for 2 1/8" to 2 3/16" screw spacings?

Why are the D & G screws lightly north?? that seems very strange!?

I'm aquiring a nice sunburst std squire from a friend soon and wanted to put the 5 + 1 on it and am wondering what problems I might encounter...

I'm guessing the std squier body is thick enough for a full size trem block, and will use the existing claw, and just use the new unit and springs.

Any advise would be very much aprreciated!

Alrite Pal.
Mine was a mexican strat the original body is hanging up and measures 2, 3/16ths center to center across the holes.

The D&G screws were a tad tight i loosened them off half a turn so there was absolutely no interferance from them. The plate still pushes against the screw and it all works fine.

If the trems are both the same colour i advise using the original screws for the fitted trem on the new one. That should get round any depth problems.

BTW cracking fella to deal with
http://www.monteallums.com/

I ordered a nut slotting tool on saturday it arrived today. You dont get better service than that.

Anyway i'm off to slot my nuts  [/url]

Thanks

I'm guessing the Squier will be the smaller 2 1/8", so might not fit so snug on mine, eh?

I'm also wondering if this is the case, the strings may not sit central on the fingerboard.....hmmmm
